As difficult as it is to find the right house, it can sometimes be even more difficult to find the right roommate. Your clients are already going to have enough on their plate without having to worry about whom they might live with–and you don’t want that added stress keeping your client from their dream home or from moving altogether. Fortunately, you can help them with this part of the process, thanks to four useful apps designed to match people with their ideal roommate or roommates.

  1. Roomi

With a database of over 300,000 members, an in-app instant messaging tool, and a long list of preference specifications,  Roomi makes it hard not to find a roommate. The app offers extensive room listing details, security measures to ensure your safety, and thousands of verified listings. It is currently available in Los Angeles, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, and more!

2. Roommates.com

Roommates.com uses an arsenal of effective tools to find your perfect roommate match; as a result, they are currently the most popular roommate matching service on the Web, and receives over a million page views a day! With traffic like that, you’re practically guaranteed to find your ideal living situation.

3. MatchPad

MatchPad uses data from users’ Facebook accounts to match people with residents looking to fill room vacancies and/or people who want to team up with another person to find their new home. Currently, the app is available only in Los Angeles and New York.

4. Room.me

In this roommate-matching app, users connect multiple social media accounts and fill out a detailed questionnaire in order to be matched with compatible prospective roommates. In addition, Room.me is working on a separate app for landlords and property management groups, designed to match tenants for multiple-bedroom apartments and homes. Currently, Room.me is active in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose, Sacramento, San Diego and Boston.
