Spelling Manor Sets Record Sales Price in California

One of LA’s most famous and expensive mega-mansions, known as “Spelling Manor” (after the late television icon Aaron Spelling), has found a buyer. The gargantuan property–originally listed with an asking price of a whopping $200 million, then later cut down to $160 million–has settled on a record-breaking price of $119.75 million after nearly three years on the market, just under sixty percent of its initial asking price. It’s still a selling price for the books, as the Spelling Manor transaction sets a new California record for the most expensive home ever sold in the state.

The massive luxurious estate includes all of the desired amenities, including a large living room, family room, dining room, as well as a gourmet kitchen fit to cater large-scale events hosted on the premises. Of course, such a high-profile mega-mansion is not complete without a mansion-sized basement, screening room, two-lane bowling alley, wine cellar and tasting room. For the new buyers looking to get in shape for the L.A. summer, they can make good use of the on-site gym, full spa, beauty salon, as well as massage and tanning rooms.
